Move Over.....

Move over donuts, cupcakes, apple pies, ice cream and Snickers (well....maybe not Snickers) today is
NATIONAL CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE DAY!!

There is nothing like the smell of cookies baking in the oven and chocolate chip cookies are just about the best ever.
Did you know that the original recipe for chocolate chip cookies was kinda created by accident?  Yep, the story goes that the lady cook person (Ruth Graves Wakefield of the Toll House Inn in the town of Whitman, Massachusetts) was baking chocolate cookies and looking for a short cut.  So she threw in chunks of semi sweet chocolate into the dough hoping they would melt as they cooked.  Of course they only melted a little, which turned out to be a good thing, Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookies were born and the rest is history.

And the wonderful lady cook person (Ruth Graves Wakefield of the Toll House Inn in the town of Whitman, Massachusetts) eventually sold her recipe to Nestle for a life time supply of chocolate.  I'm thinking that was a pretty good deal.

Find a recipe, make a cookie, save the Snickers for tomorrow.

Love,
Buddy
