Walking the humans...

Walking is good for dogs.
Walking is good for humans.
We (Spencer and I) walk our humans everyday, sometimes twice a day.

Here are some photos I stole found online with different ways dogs "walk" their humans.

Aw-w-w-w-w....too sweet for words.
I am at a loss for words...ostentatious maybe?

.....and going.
Coming.......

Seque anyone?

Well......Its different.

Luggage much?
Uh, sleeping like a baby?

Sitting pretty.
Just call me Fanny.

Do you really need a comment here?  Really!
The future?

My favorite!

The moral to the story is...
Walking is good for dogs.
Walking is good for humans.
In order for either to get anything out of it, both have to be walking.

Buddy

Words to live and eat by

This is a Julia Child quote...
"The only time to eat diet food is while you are waiting for the steak to cook."
This is Julia...

I have to say I totally and completely agree with Julia.  Why eat diet food when there is steak to be had?   I don't have to have steak every day but I am certainly going to enjoy it any time I can steal it off the grill.  But I am not going to eat diet food every day either because there is so much more interesting food to sample that is actually good for you.

Just look at how she takes control of that poultry...

Another gem from Julia...
"Everything in moderation, including moderation."

Isn't she just the best?

But my very favorite...
"If you're afraid of butter, just use cream."

Oh, I could just wallow in Julia-isms!

The Things They Make Me Do!!

I love my humans, really I do, but there are some days when they try my patience.  This is what I get for having creative creatures.

They have been working on the new ornaments and gone a little overboard in my not-so-humble opinion.  I am a pretty dignified dog after all and not at all used to being used as a prop. (even though I am pretty darn cute, if I do say so myself)

At least this isn't as bad as the day I had to pose in the Santa hat!

“The Art of Clean Up”

I don't have OCD.....but the photographer and the artist both show OCD tenancies.  (OCD = Obsessive Compulsive Disorder)

Not only are these pictures art, but this is the kind of thing that would appeal to my human's sense of order. They tend to play with whatever is left on the table after eating and straightening things seem to be a favorite pastime.  If I can figure out how to get images off of the phone, I'll post some pictures of their "artistic endeavors".

But for now, follow this link...

http://noquedanblogs.com/arte/the-art-of-clean-up-el-arte-de-ordenar/

This stuff totally rocks and even though it is in a language I can't understand, you don't need a translator to enjoy the pictures and appreciate what may be a slight case of OCD.

Gringos need not apply....

....unless you are looking for an epicurean adventure!

Go here...
  http://tastykitchen.com/blog/

Do this...
Candied Jalapenos (Cowboy Candy)

And report back at the total ecstasy that your taste buds have experienced!

Now I will be the first to admit that my tongue is a bit shy when it comes to really spicy food, but these look delish AND it appears that the recipe can be somewhat modified to accommodate a, shall we say,  less experienced palate.

All I can think of is what a delicious bit of sunshine to be able to open up on a cold winter's day and wallow in the warmth.  It is enough to make a tail wag.

Buddy

Really?!

Did I miss something?

Or should I say, am I missing something?

http://dogblog.dogster.com/2011/08/19/fake-testicles-for-dogs-are-they-ever-a-good-idea/

Perhaps I should get plastic surgery and change my "profile" a little. Or maybe not.

Lookin' Goo-o-o-o-o-d

So..........

Google is updating (as opposed to down-dating?) their products and next in line is... you guessed it... Blogger!

And here we are trying out our new look.   It really is me don't you think?  After all, what could be better for a dog than a patch of grass to pee on and a bunch of flowers to sniff?

Thanks Google, for new stuff to play with.  I am looking forward to seeing what else you have to offer.

In the meantime, let me introduce you all to the most amazing piece of art.  Mind you I am especially fond of trees.  I am a dog, am I not?  But this is remarkable.  Visit this website to see more amazing tree art.

And I promise on my crooked little feet and my great big heart, if ever I am lucky enough to see a tree like this in person (or would that be dogson?) I won't lift my leg.  However, I can't make any promises about Spencer.

Buddy

Where were you when the earth moved?

I gotta tell ya, I wasn't all that disturbed by yesterday's earthquake. I thought dogs were suppose to be sensitive to these kinds of things, but I didn't notice. In fact, if the artist and the photographer hadn't been talking about it, I wouldn't have known it even happened.

Picture this:
We are in the second story of a really old three story building that was built in 1885 and snuggles into the side of a hill. The artist is sitting at her computer and the photographer is sitting at his computer. They are side by side, each engrossed in their respective projects when the artist looks up and says "Are we moving?"

The photographer looks over at her and says "Well, I guess we are. It must be an earthquake."

They went back to work, and three minutes later the radio announced that an earthquake had hit the east coast. That was it...no big deal.

I think it should have been a big deal. In fact, I think we should have celebrated Mother Nature giving us a (gentle) nudge and we survived.

Make a note, living through an earthquake, any earthquake, is a reason to celebrate life! In fact, I think a round of treats were in order. Make mine a big ole' juicy bone.

Birthdays!

Well!

Today I discovered birthdays.

Now, I have known about *age* because I hear my vet talking about it every time I visit. If I remember correctly, I am five years old.

What I didn't know that in order to have an *age* you get to have a birthday AND sometimes when you have a birthday (especially if you are cute like the grand kids), you get to have a birthday party. What a wonderful concept!

Today is the birthday of a very special person. The photographer's father (aka Dad) is celebrating his (are you ready for this) ninety-first birthday. Do you have any idea how old that is in dog years?

So what I am wondering is -
When is my birthday?

AND

Where is my party? (I'm cute enough, right?)

Love,
Buddy

PS: When I grow up, I want to be as old as Dad.
