Now I am on a mission.
Having started this conversation about interesting photographs, I needed to go out (and spent wa-a-a-a-a-y too much time surfing the internet) and find more, more more. You can thank me later.
First I Googled the term "unique photographs" and the first page was full of professional photography studios touting themselves as unique. So my question is... how unique can you be if everyone else is unique as well?
Then I looked for "way cool photographs" and found some amazing images, (and spent wa-a-a-a-a-y too much time surfing the internet). You can thank me later.
Anyway, I did track down some sites that I found interesting for your amusement. Enjoy.
Denis Darzacq
Prepare to spend a lot of time here. Lots and lots of way cool pictures.
Cool pictures and tutorials on how to do them.
This one caught my eye, it seems to have the work of several artists.
This is a fun site despite it being a site for "fashion trends and glamorous models". Check out the "funny" gallery.
Most are a little over the top for me, but I think I am in love.
Take a look around, try not to get sucked into the blackhole of internet exploring. You can thank me later.
Love,
Buddy
Its a dog's life, barking about anything and everything; over the fence and under the quilt. Owner of two humans (David) the photographer and (Ronnie) the artist, and all around canine philosopher. Come on in and sit awhile. We'll chew the fat, gossip about the other dogs and laugh at the human's antics.

Photographers
I have noticed that when the artist and the photographer come back from an expedition that they take very different pictures. They go to the same place but they look at the world differently.
For instance,
this is David's picture.
and this...
is the one Ronnie took the same day.
See what I mean?
This is the site of a photographer with a lot of interesting images.
Most of the site isn't written in English, but I have no trouble understanding the photos.
My favorites are the Riddles.
Guess what this is...
or this?
Now, go...have fun!
Love,
Buddy

Ready for Something New?
I think this just might be the last post about food for Thanksgiving (only because I now have to turn my attention to Christmas) but I couldn't let the weekend pass with out giving some pointers in what to do with all the leftovers.
One of the best things about having such a large amount of food cooked for one day isn't just having a full (or in my case, overfull) stomach. It is all the wonderful leftovers to be consumed over the weekend. That's why Thanksgiving is on Thursday you know (not really).
Again I am sending you to;
All Recipes
A new one, Ready Set Eat
Another new one, About dot com Southern Food
And please be careful with the care and feeding of your leftover turkey.
Love,
Buddy

Save Room for Dessert!
No Thanksgiving is complete without a tiny bit of dessert. I am all for having the pie while waiting on the turkey but for some reason the humans don't agree with that order of doing things.
Of course if you have waited until the last minute and forgot to plan dessert, you can always run down to the corner grocery and buy some yummy tidbit already made. But if you are all about doing it from scratch....

Go forth and bake, then have a wonderful time sharing with family and friends.

Side Kicks
For me, the main attraction for Thanksgiving is the turkey but I guess at some point I have to admit that the side dishes can lend to the overall success of dinner.
So, in that vein, I have found a couple of sites with a whole slew of recipes. Of course, for all those vegetarians these would be all important.
I really like the Food Network
(and profess a certain love for Paula Deen).
You can't go wrong with anything from Southern Living.
Now, go find something really yummy, fill out your grocery list, and get busy, it is almost time!
Love,
Buddy
PS Don't drink and fry!

Please sir, may I have some more....
I'm not going to say that I am obsessed with the food for this Thanksgiving, but I will say that I do think about it just about every morning when I get up....and pretty much every evening before I go to bed, oh and maybe at lunch and mid-morning and late afternoon, and early evening....and pretty much the rest of the day too. Oh well, maybe I am obsessed.
Anyway, I came across this recipe for turkey cooked in a slow cooker, which I really hadn't thought of, but when you think about it is a good idea for one or two people who aren't cooking for a crowd, or if you are eating at Aunt August's house and won't have any leftovers of your own, and you NEED leftovers because they are the BEST thing about Thanksgiving dinner.
Of course if you are going to have turkey you absolutely NEED mashed potatoes as a side, or in some cases (like Aunt August's youngest daughter Maddie) mashed potatoes are the main dish with a bit of turkey on the side.
Try this recipe for traditional taters.
Go here for more potato information, including some non-traditional offerings.
I can hardly wait!!

Dogs can be useful and entertaining too!
Static Dog
I've had a hard day. I had a bone. A great big, juicy, meaty bone.
Doorman Dog
Well, really it was Spencer's bone. I have one too, but I hid mine.
A Really Talented Dog Jesse
I wanted to chew onSpencer's my bone on the bed, but the humans wouldn't let me.
and my favorite Murdock.
I bet if I could open the fridge and fetch a beer, they'd let me chew a bone on the bed. Sheesh!

Happy Birthday Georgia O'Keeffe!
I believe I would rather have Stieglitz like something - anything I had done - than anyone else I know.
I decided that if I could paint that flower in a huge scale, you could not ignore its beauty.
I'm frightened all the time. But I never let it stop me. Never
I hate flowers - I paint them because they're cheaper than models and they don't move.
I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn't say any other way - things I had no words for
I have already settled it for myself so flattery and criticism go down the same drain and I am quite free.
I've been absolutely terrified every moment of my life - and I've never let it keep me from doing a single thing I wanted to do.
I often painted fragments of things because it seemed to make my statement as well as or better than the whole could.
Singing has always seemed to me the most perfect
means of expression.
It is so spontaneous. And after singing, I think
the violin.
Since I cannot sing, I paint.
The days you work are the best days.
My favorite photo of Georgia by Ansel Adams |
One day a hummingbird flew in--
It fluttered against the window til I got it down where I could reach it with an open umbrella--
--When I had it in my hand it was so small I couldn't believe I had it--but I could feel the intense life--so intense and so tiny--
...You were like the humming bird to me...
And I am rather inclined to feel that you and I know the best part of one another without spending much time together--
--It is not that I fear the knowing--
It is that I am at this moment willing to let you be what you are to me--it is beautiful and pure and very intensely alive.

I love Georgia and her work, a true American original and rugged individual.

Finally! An airline with a sense of humor.
Take a peek at this website. Even if you don't live in South Africa, or any of the places Kulula Air flies, you can still have a bit of fun poking around their site.
Take a look here to see more pictures of the fleet.
And here to view their ads.

Can you imagine how much fun the passengers have?
